It also comes with an option called smart mapping, which makes use of multiple sensors to help identify the areas in your home that require attention and make a tidy route around them. This technology is extremely effective in navigating toys that are left on the floor, or furniture legs sticking out from underneath objects. It also has a camera that snaps the Roomba back to its original position when it starts drifting from its actual location.

iRobot also added an additional set of rollers beneath the Roomba that do not have bristles, which makes them more likely to withstand knots than earlier models. They're also taller than previous rollers mopping and vacuuming can better fit under beds and couches that are low, and they're designed to let this model move more easily across different flooring types.
