The Best Robot Vacuum For Carpet

This vacuum is a little slower than others, but it is still able to reach most corners and crevices. It comes with a large bin which makes it much easier to empty. They also follow a more efficient cleaning route and have a larger dirt compartment, are more efficient to charge, move more easily, and are much easier to connect to smart home devices.

Shark RV1001AE IQ

This budget self-emptying robot vacuum cleaner does an excellent job on carpets with a low pile and hard flooring. The combination brush is able to reach corners and edges, and automatically increases suction when it detects carpet. It also does a great job of cleaning embedded dirt from carpets in the middle of the pile. The IQ has a small footprint and a self-emptying function. If you want to change the floor's levels or define areas that are not allowed to be used, you'll need to manually reset the map.

The IQ's app comes with advanced mapping and automation capabilities however, it's not able to access no-go zones, which are available on iRobot models. The smart-pathing navigational system results in superior maneuverability and its high-pile carpet mode is clean well, although it does have a tendency to get caught up on rug tassels. Its iHome speaker allows you to control the robot with voice commands.

During our tests during our tests, the IQ was capable of handling pet hair effectively, clearing huge amounts of debris from floors that were not bare and fair amounts on medium-pile carpet. It was a little less effective on shag carpet, which was a struggle to reach dirt and dust embedded in the fibers. It was capable of maneuvering chair legs and tight spaces as well as the bottom of an wooden IKEA step stool. We did notice that it was a bit slower on bare floors but it quickly recovered and performed better than the other robots we tried.

The IQ is a better option over the iRobot Roomba 694 for most applications. It has a larger dustbin and a longer battery lifespan and is more adept at navigating obstacles. It has mopping tools that are able to remove sticky mess. On the other side the iRobot is built better and has fewer parts that require maintenance or replacement and incurs lower costs for recurring maintenance, and can create virtual no-go zones through its companion app. It can even restart a cleaning session from where it left off if it is unable to recharge its battery prior to it has completed the task. The iRobot is also controlled by voice, which can be an advantage for many users.

Eufy 11S

The RoboVac 11S robotic vacuum isn't one of the most feature-rich models, but it does offer great cleaning power at a low cost. This robot vacuum is designed for consumers with a tight budget who don't require a complicated mapping system, or even an app, to control it. The robot is capable of running for up to an hour and comes with the remote, a cleaning tool, AC power adapter, charging base and extra filters.

The 11S is slim and sleek and has a tempered-glass upper deck that appears like polished aluminum. It's a nice change from the utilitarian and industrial designs of Roomba, Samsung and Neato.

The eufy11S performed well in our tests at removing larger debris and fine dust from floors. It was unable to thoroughly clean carpets with high and medium piles. The device also has a tendency to bump into furniture and people in its path however, it is able to detect obstacles with sensors. If it encounters them it halts and emits an alarm so that you can manually steer it around the obstacle and get back to work.

The BoostIQ mode is another fantastic feature of the eufy11S. It lets you set up the robot to automatically adjust suction strength based on the floor type and the level of dirt. It's also easy to use the remote to direct the 11S to where you'd like it to go.

Single Room Mode is a great option if you have little furniture in the room you'd like to vacuum. The eufy can spend 30 minutes cleaning the area that it's assigned.

You can also select Edge Cleaning, which restricts the amount of time in each area to 20 minutes to ensure optimal battery life. If you select this option the eufy can move in a spiral fashion, tackling corners and edges for an efficient clean.

Miele Complete C1

The Miele Complete C1 canister robot is a top mid-priced vacuum cleaner that is a winner on carpet. Its performance is also exceptional on bare floors. It can pick up rice and other small particles effortlessly. The suction power doesn't decrease as the dirt bin gets full. Its design that is allergy-friendly and sealed with air traps allergens and keeps your family healthy. It comes with an onboard HEPA filter and a self-emptying dustbin, which means you won't need to purchase additional filters or a separate vacuum bag.

It's not quite as powerful as more expensive models, but is still excellent for deep cleaning and fighting stains. Two front cameras provide live feeds of images on your smartphone, and it features one of the most effective obstacle avoidance systems we've seen. It has a huge bin, a long running time and an easy, bump-free clean-up.
