Ghost, unlike trackers, doesn't emit radio frequency signals, and therefore cannot be identified by diagnostic tools. It does not have any LED indicators or buttons that would indicate its presence in your van or car.

This device connects to your vehicle's CAN data network and creates an unique pin code push sequence using the factory buttons on your dashboard and the steering wheel. This stops the criminal from being able to start your vehicle. If the incorrect PIN code is entered, the engine will not be started which makes it impossible for them to escape with your joy and pride.

Contrary to physical deterrents, such as wheel locks and steering locks which can be cut or stolen the ghost immobiliser is an invisible electronic device that cannot be detected by common thieves since it doesn't emit radio signals and works silently.

OBD port hacking

OBD port hacking has become the latest technique used by professional car thieves. Thieves have access to your vehicle's OBD by using the help of a laptop, mobile application, and cables that are available online for less than PS50. Once they have access, they are able to do anything they like, from resetting your vehicle's fault codes to tuning your car, or taking it away in under a minute.

It will protect your car from being stolen by requiring a specific PIN code to be entered in conjunction with your key fob prior to you can start the engine or leave. It does this by interacting with the vehicles ECU (Engine Control Unit) on the CAN Data circuit, and is completely undetectable to any code grabbing or RF scanning technology. It comes with a Service/Valet mode that allows your vehicle to start with no PIN code.

You will also need cables with OBD pins, which are connected to the CAN bus. These cables can be found on eBay and Amazon for around P50. You'll also require an OBD cable that has OBD pins which are connected to the CAN bus, these can be found on Amazon/Ebay for about PS50. The cable has to be connected to the wiring harness of your car, for example the radio wiring harness.

Once the hacker has a connection to your vehicles OBD port, they can send diagnostics to the system at a high baud rate that can crash the CAN and stop systems inside your vehicle from functioning. This can cause your car's engine to stall or even shut down.
