The Q Revo is an excellent choice if you're looking for an affordable robot vacuum and mop. It provides a fantastic mopping experience, but doesn't have the features that make up its more expensive sibling.

In tests, it was able to take on dry oats and dust on carpets of medium pile and pet hair on hard flooring. However, unlike other models, it doesn't employ LIDAR to determine the layout of your home.

The iRobot Roomba S9+ robot vacuum is among the most highly-rated robots. It offers impressive cleaning power and numerous features that include a self-emptying dirt compartment built into its charging base. This robot can recognize your cleaning habits, and recommend automatic schedules to give you the ultimate hands-free cleaning experience.

It's easy to set up thanks to the iRobot Home app that walks you through the procedure. Once the system is set up, you can start cleaning automatically with just one button. You can select a general clean which focuses on the elimination of larger particles like cereal and rice. Or you can opt for two thorough mappings to ensure that your home is thoroughly cleaned.

This robot vacuum performs well on both floors with no carpet and carpets with a low pile. It is able to take large objects and does not lose suction as fast as some other models and can pick up pet hair without much difficulty. It's a challenge with high-pile carpets or plush carpets however, iRobot promises that the next models will be more efficient.

The S9+ is a new design from iRobot that focuses on enhancing corner and edge cleaning. It's the very first Roomba that uses an open-fronted, flat-fronted design. The company hopes this will allow it to fit into walls and furniture. It's a significant improvement over hockey puck-shaped robovacs which are widely used, but we found it to be just marginally better than circular models.

iRobot also claims the S9+ has an advanced filter system that prevents microscopic dust particles and allergens from circulating throughout your home. It's a nice claim, but we're not convinced it's enough to justify the price cost.

Its smart navigation system utilizes sensors to keep track of the layout of your home and vSLAM to map the interior. It then cleans your entire house efficiently by avoiding obstacles such as stairs and other barriers. The iRobot Home app lets you control the robot and schedule cleaning times, and create virtual boundary markers, so that it can recognize areas that need extra attention.

2. Roborock Q Revo

When it is about robots that can combine mopping and vacuuming the Roborock Q Revo is a standout. Its vac settings are just as efficient as those found on higher-end models and its mopping feature is better still--its spinning pads do a more impressive job of scrubbing your floors than a stationary vibration pad.

The only drawback is the lack of a second brush for more thorough cleaning. However, it's not a big deal for those who want to own one of the top robots available. The dust tank on the robovac is bigger than most of its competitors and filling it up takes only two or three times, even when you have maximum dirt.

In terms of the mopping device, I was impressed by its ability to scrub tough dirt from my floors. Its two lowest mopping settings which are less powerful than the high-powered modes, produce very minimal noise, roborock robot vacuum meaning you can work or watch TV without being distracted. It will gently hit furniture or walls, and move on whenever it comes across one.

What really sets the Q Revo apart is that it's designed to operate almost completely autonomously, requiring only a little for user intervention. The dock of the robo-vac has multiple functions and will automatically move trash into a hidden bin. It also cleans and dries, as well as refills the clean water tank. The app is good at nagging you only when something requires attention, like the water tank being empty or a scheduled cleaning session having been canceled due to a full dust bin.

You can also create and merge rooms to modify how the Q Revo treats your abode. This feature is beneficial when you have different flooring in different areas of your home, or if you need to regularly get rid of clutter like toys, clothes and books. The biggest improvement over the ECOVACS Deebot X1 is that this version is sleeker and more modern design due to Danish firm Jacob Jensen Design (best known for its Bang & Olufsen products). Although it's still quite large--it's more than two feet high and deep and weighs nearly four pounds--the robot and its base are much smaller than the Roborock Q Revo or iRobot J7.

This version is more efficient than the X1 since it charges faster and can clean 1,500 square feet in a single charge. Additionally, it comes with a larger dustbin that is more durable to hold more debris which makes it easier to empty when needed.

The X2 Omni also has a more natural voice assistant and an app that is functional even if you are not at home. It also comes with additional mopping modes as well as an intelligent routing feature which allows it to clean specific areas or rooms of your house instead of just following a set route.

The X2 Omni is the most effective mopping performance of any robot we've tested, thanks to its mop pads rotating to remove tough stains and a motor that generates plenty of downward pressure. Its vacuuming is excellent as well and it enhances suction when it senses carpet to ensure it does an excellent job. It also has a massive battery that can last for several weeks between charges and its mopping mode is as powerful as the ones we've seen on an ordinary robot.

4. Dreametech L10s Ultra

The Dreametech L10s Ultra is a high-end mop and vacuum robot that comes with a range of features that you aren't likely to find on robots at this price range. It can make precise floor maps and recognize various flooring types. It's also among the few robots that can automatically clean and dry its mop pad. While these features are nice to have however, they also make the L10s Ultra more in the luxury category, which might make it a little more expensive than some homeowners need.

The L10s Ultra looks like a modern floor cleaner. It's slim and tall with a white finish that is complemented by silver elements and mirror plating. The front of the machine is adorned with an enormous bumper that shields the furniture and vacuum cleaner as you move around your home. Behind the pane at the front is additional navigation technology with sensors that aid the L10s Ultra navigate tight corners and avoid obstacles.

On the top, there's one button that serves as the on/off switch. The button will activate the vacuum. Clicking it again will shut it off and send it to its base station. The circular menu at the middle of the control panel lets you to choose cleaning modes or schedules, as well as preferences. The left and right buttons allow you to access the settings in the app, which allow you to customize how the L10s Ultra interacts with your home.
