Our BMW ghost immobiliser, which is a next-generation device, does not require you to cut OEM wires or to add key fobs or alarms from the aftermarket. Anti-Hijack

It's designed to stop thieves from putting in keys or replacing the ECU to start your vehicle and drive off. Ghost is connected to your CAN network and utilizes buttons on your vehicle to generate an unique push-sequence which must be entered before the engine can begin.

If the anti-hijacking mode has been activated the attempt to restart the engine will be blocked. The system will honk the horn flashing the indicators, and stop the vehicle in the event that the code cannot be found. By entering your push sequence or entering service mode, you can cancel the Anti-Hijack function. This allows your vehicle to be temporarily started without having to enter a PIN.

If you own an GPS device linked up to your BMW it can be used to cancel the Anti-Hijack feature, allowing you to still use the navigation system in your car whilst the vehicle is parked and not being watched. You can also use your smart-phone to control the anti-theft feature as well as other functions.

The device is connected to the vehicles CAN Data Network (similar to an Ethernet cable) and a personal PIN code is programmed into it. The pin code needs to be selected prior to the engine's start. This stops thieves from using a cloned key or replacing the ECU in order to disable this system.

If the vehicle is stolen in any way, the Ghost will enter a security mode and disables all functions until the PIN code is entered or you can utilize the mobile app to dearm it.
