The Best Robot Vacuum and Mop Combo

The Q Revo is a great choice if you are looking for a robot mop and vacuum that's middle-of-the-road. It provides a fantastic mopping experience but lacks the features that make up its more expensive counterpart.

During tests it was able to remove pet hair and dry oats out of carpets with a medium-pile. It doesn't employ LIDAR, however, like cheaper models do to locate your home.

1. Roomba S9+ from iRobot

The iRobot Roomba S9+ is one of the top robot vacuums. It has impressive cleaning power and plenty of features that include the self-emptying dirt container built into its charging base. The robot will learn your cleaning habits, and suggest automated schedules to provide you with an effortless cleaning experience.

The iRobot Home App guides you through the setup process. Once the system is set up you can begin the automated cleaning with a single button. You can choose the general clean option that focuses on the removal of larger debris such as rice and cereal. You can also choose two mappings to ensure that the entire home is thoroughly cleaned.

This robot vac performs well on floors that are unfinished and low-pile carpet. It can pick up pet hair and sucks large items up. It doesn't lose suction as fast as some other robot vacuums. It has a difficult time with high-pile or plush carpet, but iRobot promises it will improve with the next models.

The S9+ features a new design from iRobot that is focused on enhancing corner and edge cleaning. It's the first Roomba to adopt a flat-fronted D-shaped design, which it hopes will allow it to fit into walls and furniture. It's an improvement over the hockey puck-shaped robovacs that are common, but we found it only marginally superior to circular models.

iRobot also claims that the S9+ comes with an improved filter system that prevents microscopic dust particles and allergens from recirculating within your home. It's a nice claim however, we're not convinced that it's enough to justify the high price cost.

Its smart navigation system uses sensors to store the arrangement of your home and vSLAM to map the interior. This allows it to steer clear of obstacles, like staircases and other barriers, and to tidy up your entire home in the most efficient way possible. The iRobot Home App allows you to schedule cleaning times and also set virtual boundary markers to ensure that the robot is aware of what areas require extra attention.

2. Roborock Q Revo

When it is about robots that can combine mopping and vacuuming the Roborock Q Revo is a standout. Its vac settings are as efficient as those found on higher-end models and its mopping feature is superior, as its spinning pads do a much more impressive job of cleaning your floors than a stationary vibration pad.

It's only downside is the absence of a second brush to allow for more thorough cleaning. However, that's not a big deal for those who want to own one of the top robots on the market. The dust tank on the robovac is larger than its competitors. Filling it up only takes two or three cycles even when you've got a lot of dirt.

As for the mopping system, I was amazed by its ability to scrub tough dirt off my floors. The two mopping settings that it has, which are less powerful than high-powered settings, produce minimal noise, meaning you can work or watch TV without being distracted. If it comes into contact with the wall or a piece of furniture it gently smacks into it before moving on.

The Q Revo is unique in that it runs almost entirely on its own, requiring only minimal user involvement. The robo-vac features a multi-function dock that automatically transfers physical trash to the bin hidden from view and also washes and dry the mop pads and refills its clean water tank. The app will only alert you if something is wrong, such as a low clean water tank or a canceled vacuuming session due to the bin being full.

You can also create and combine actual rooms to alter how the Q Revo treats your abode. This feature is useful if you have different flooring in different areas of your house or in the event that you have to regularly clear out clutter such as clothes, toys and books. The robo-vac is also efficient and was one of the top performers in my tests, taking dirt from carpets and hardwood floors in the first attempt. It is able to even clean up spills that are wet, though I recommend drying them using a clean cloth before bringing the robot in.

3. Ecovacs deebot robot vacuum cleaner X2 Omni

The X2 Omni is a premium robot mop and vacuum with all the features you can want. It comes with the ability to rotate mops and a powerful vacuum that can clean carpets as well as hard floors. It's akin to the iRobot Roomba S9+. It also comes with an automatic cleaning station that cleans and empty the mop pads to keep them clean and Best Robot Vacuum and Mop Combo ready for reuse. It also has a sensor that can detect obstacles better which allows it to avoid falling onto furniture and other objects.

Although these features are nice to have, they also put the L10s Ultra in the luxury category and could mean it's slightly more expensive than what some homeowners require.

The L10s Ultra looks like a modern floor cleaner. It is tall and slim with a white finish, accentuated by silver elements and mirror plating. The front of the machine is dominated by a huge bumper, which protects furniture and vacuum cleaners from damage when moving around the house. Behind the pane at the front is a second navigation technology with sensors that help the L10s Ultra navigate tight corners and avoid obstacles.

On the top, there's a single button that essentially is a switch for on and off. The button will activate the vacuum. If you click it again, it will turn it off and transmit it back to its base station. The central control panel includes the circular menu which lets you choose cleaning modes or schedules, as well as preferences.
