BMW Ghost Immobiliser

The Ghost uses the data bus CAN to communicate with your vehicle. This prevents thieves from putting in a new key or even replacing the ECU to get around your security system because it requires a valid PIN code to start the engine.

This lets you enter a specific key push sequence that isn't found available in the usual media menus, such as volume up/down and source, cruise control or air conditioning on, which prevents your car from starting unless it is entered. The PIN can be between 4 and 20 characters, making it difficult for thieves to guess.

We can also add to the system the ability to use a service/valet feature. This is activated while your car is being serviced so that the Ghost is away from the garage. You can do this by pressing the service button 5 times on your infotainment system (the system will flash with confirmation) and the Ghost will automatically re-arm when you return.

Service Mode / Valet Mode

It's discreet, incredibly effective and deterrence for even the most obstinate thieves!

If you are parked at home or in a meeting and greet situation when you are at a meet and greet, the Ghost can be set to service mode. This lets you start the vehicle with your keys, but stops the engine from starting until the correct code has been entered. This is ideal for customers who need to turn their cars over to valet services or other trusted friends and family members. This lets you take your car to the garage for maintenance, etc. without fearing that it might be modified by a mechanic while you are waiting.

If the service/valet mode has been activated and enabled, your BMW is unable to drive after it has been started. This will stop anyone else from driving it while you are away. Once you return, the car will be restored to normal operation and stop it from being tampered or stolen again.

Ghost developed this discreet device that is obtrusive, and unobtrusive to fight the increasing sophistication of hi-tech thieves. It is designed to stop thieves from adding a new key or replacing the ECU to start your vehicle and drive it away. Ghost connects to your CAN data network and uses the buttons in your vehicle (steering wheel and centre console, as well as door panels) to create a unique push sequence that requires to be completed before the engine can start.

Once the anti-hijacking mode is activated the attempt to restart the engine will be blocked. When the system determines that the vehicle is no longer moving, it will honk the horn and flash the indicators, if it fails to find the correct code it will also stop the engine (where possible). The Anti-Hijack feature can be cancelled by entering your push sequence, or by entering service mode which allows your car to start and drive without needing to enter your PIN.

If you own a GPS device that is connected to your BMW, you can use it to disable the Anti-Hijack function to allow you to navigate using your navigation system even when the vehicle is in a parking spot. If you own a smartphone, you can also hook it up to your Ghost app to control the anti-hijack function and other functions.

We can connect the Ghost device to your mobile application to allow remote control of keyless start and go capabilities. The system lets you start your car by selecting drive, then exit the service mode without using your key fobs. You can also view your vehicle's location in real-time on a map displayed on your smartphone, perfect for tracking your car whilst on the move.
